Pets in snow

Princess Patricia Pug, quite likes the snow after initially having to be forced outside. We don't know if this is her first experience of snow as she is a rescue, I did take photos but still have to figure out how to put photos on here.
The most amusing have been our rabbits, Buster Bunny loved it and has been digging in the snow and pushing it about with his nose, his friend Darcy was a little hesitant at first but then loved having a mad run around.
The cats have not been much different one still caught a mouse.0 -

Could I just share a little tip I heard on the radio the other night?
My Cocker Spaniel has loads of energy, and I generally take her on a couple of mile walk each morning, and me or Mrs T.S. does similar in the evening.
In all this, although she loves it, and bounces around like Pepe le Peew, she get's bothered by ice balls building up in her paws by the end of the walk, and we have to stop to de-ice her.
Smearing a bit of Vaseline around her pads and toes prior to her walks completely stops this from happening. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

Lanolin is even better at stopping the ice balls, but much more expensive unfortunately.
Do keep the hair trimmed between the pads on their feet, and paw-wax protects their feet from the salt that is on the ground right now.0 -
Here's my springer in the snow. I put vaseline on his paws before we go out to prevent the ice balls.

after jumping off the gas box (his usual waiting spot) onto sheet ice outside the door our cat has been put off considerably! although he still disappears for a minute or two to do his business before heading back in quickly! He looks like he's swimming in it so I understand why he's a little perturbed (there's knowwhere outside for him to sleep at all). Cute photos- I'm in love with all the dogs!If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0

Thanks for the tips about the ice balls. The snow is so deep and my lad is so low slung I'd have to do his chest, belly and willy - and I ain't going there !.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
I am loving the piccys on here. My collie just wants to stay outside all the time, but his paws are getting quite sore as the snow is so hard in places. I'll def be trying the vaseline tip, and I'm thinking I may put socks on him soon.
I can't get his piccy on here, but heres a link I hope.
