HI i was just wanting to know if anyone knows about fitting baths and how much it would cost. I moved into my council house a year ago and i took it with a shower room. But now im finding it hard with an 18 mnth old child and using a shower. All i want done is to have a basic bath fitted and that is all. And i can't find any information for this. So if you can help thanks in advance.
My goal this year is to be more orginised and start leading a healthy life.xx

Hi shazba,
You should get more help with this from the experts on the In My Home board so I'll move your thread over there.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.0 -
You could get a cheap bath supplied and fitted for somewhere between £ 200 and £ 300 (both very ish) on a replacement basis. But you say its for what is curently a shower room. That would be more work and difficult to guess without more detail.

Depending on region this sounds right but can expect to pay up to £500. I suggest you to buy the suite or bath tub yourself from a decent supplier and then phone up for quotes.
A new basic bathroom with tiles up to £5k - really doubt you asked for this.Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'

Complete small, basic bathroom with some tiling circa £800-£1500 (minimum ish)

Crikey guys she only asked for the price for a bath on its own! Its the shower room aspect that worries me though 'cos adjusting that could add quite a bt of dosh but without further detail - pass the crystal ball!

Thanks for your replies guys. I am going to be buying the bath my self. and the bathroom is tiled all the way apart for 1 wall and it has got one of them floors that slant tp get rid of the water and goes up the wall about 30 cm. sorry i am not very good at explaining things:o but all your help is appreciated. My goal this year is to be more orginised and start leading a healthy life.xx0

Ok so its a wetroom then. Its inevitable that some of those tiles are coming off then in order to reinstate hot and cold feeds for the bath and also to provide a waste for the bath. Thats irrespective of arrangements required because the floor isn't level. Thats not insuperable though. Main concern is replacing the tiles that have to be taken off. You could be looking at a retiling job altogether TBH.
Frankly you need to get someone to look at it and give you a price because theres going to be so big a window just applying sheer guesswork that it will be meaningless for you.

you can certainly get a new bath installed for 300/500 quid.
but thats just the bath.
any more work such as tiling and making good is an extra cost. and thats just too vague to budget cost on here
ps.
maybe you can keep the present shower over the bath?Get some gorm.0
