Having originally posted this, I'm surprised to hear so many bad things about screenselect. I have actually used them before 2 years ago when I was at a different address and e-mail. I never had any trouble whatsoever - always got my first choice dvd's, free gift arrived in time and dvd turnaround was 2 days....which is brilliant I think.

Again, I did sign up again this time and my first 2 dvd's (both 1st choice ones) have arrived 2 days later. Fingers crossed and touch wood but it's looking ok at the moment! :T

Just tried to sign up but was refused membership as they said I'd had a free trial before........ I haven't! After reading others comments, think I had a lucky escape!!

I was refused as well and I havent used them either but a colleague of mine thinks the Tesco DVD rental site is actually run by Screenselect. Not sure if this is true but I am sure Tesco is the only DVD site I have used.

    hey just wondering...

which dvds are on the free offer? pirates of the caribbean, a davina mcCall workout, madagascar? those are my guesses from reading this forum.

i have already used their free trial you see but i want to buy a copy of Real and send the page along with an stamped addressed envelope.

i cant access the page that shows me the choice of free dvds though :-(

    thanks

I used a link on this site and signed up for the £15 amazon voucher with screen select and found their service to be great - i watched 2 dvds before the trial was up and enjoyed spending my vouchers. If I didn't work so many hours i probably would have kept up with them and i would recommend them to anyone.

I had a successful trial with screenselect in february. dvds arrived in good time, and cancelling was no trouble.

I signed again last week through dvd.co.uk £20 promo, using a different credt card.
They accepted my signup, but nothing happened with my dvd selection, so I cancelled. I think their system spotted my address as before.

But I then got an email from dvd.co.uk with my e-voucher number. :T
  • So how do you know whether you will get a free DVD? I entered the code but now am not so sure as it didn't ask me what DVD I wanted...

I picked up a copy of Real this weekend, I'm planning on cutting the page out of the mag and sending it over for my free dvd - I signed up with screenselect with their £20 offer a few weeks ago so I've used that option. If you're looking for the mag don't bother standing and looking for "Real" at the top of a magazine, the mag has a big R in script type at the top left hand corner and REAL written in much smaller type underneath - I missed it the first time I looked. This fortnight's mag has a green slant to the cover - its a big white R on a green background, and has a pic of Jennifer Aniston on the front in a green dress. SWMBO is quite chuffed with her free mag, hopefully I'll be as chuffed with my £1 odd (+ stamps) dvd :) !

    Thanks all

I just wanted to add my 2 pence's worth....I tried the service with SS and I have to say that their customer service is totally rubbish. I cancelled my service less than a month after i signed up.

BEAR this in mind when you are chasing your FREE/CHEAP DVD.

I'm going to wait till it comes on telly this Christmas or next.
