Free Pirates of the Caribbean DVD

ScreenSelect.co.uk* is giving away a free Pirates of the Caribbean DVD when you sign up to its free DVD rental trial - and best of all you don't actually have to pay anything to get the trial, and can cancel at the end of it if you choose to.

How to get it

This offer was published in Real magazine (a bi-weekly womens' mag). Technically the offer is for every reader of the magazine. In the past I have argued that legally 'a reader' is not someone who buys the magazine, yet simply someone who has read it. However if large numbers (from the email) try that, companies tend to shut the doors.

Thus as this magazine is only £1, I strongly suggest you buy the magazine and thus can prove legitimacy if there's a problem.

Signing up

Go to screenselect.co.uk to join up and enter the promo code listed in the magazine, which should be REALJUNE. The free trial ends 21 days after you've registered or when you've been sent the fifth DVD rental, whichever is the earliest. The offer ends on 31 Aug and the free DVD will be dispatched within 30 days of registration.

Already a member? Never fear!

If you've used a DVD rental service provided by Screenselect or Video Island (which provides the rental service for DVD.co.uk), you can still get your mitts a DVD. Simply buy a copy of Real and send the page along with an stamped addressed envelope to Real Promotion, Screen Select.co.uk, Studio 8, Europa Studios, Victoria, London NW10 6ND

BIG WARNING:

To register you must give your credit or debit card details. Make sure you cancel it (assuming you don't want to carry on with the trial) before the free period ends.

If you don't your card will be debited automatically for the monthly subscription. You can cancel at any time so if you're at all concerned you'll forget, you're better off canceling early on.

Hope no-one's posted this already. Couldn't find it anyway.

If you sign up for screenselect.co.uk and put in the following code REALJUNE (promotion in Real magazine this month) - you get a free 'Pirates of the Caribbean' DVD to keep ...... just remember to cancel your subscription before 21 days or before they send you the 6th DVD. Free dvd arrives within 30 days apparently. :D

* Using this link helps the site stay ad-free and free to use, as it's an ‘affiliated link’ which invisibly takes you via commercial price comparison services like Moneysupermarket or Find, which then pay this site per click

You shouldn’t notice any difference, the link doesn’t impact the product at all and the editorial line (the things I write) is NEVER impacted by the revenue. If it isn’t possible to get an affiliate link for the best product, it is still recommended and still included. The following https://www.screenselect.co.uk is an identical unaffiliated link provided for the sake of transparency. For more details read how this site is financed.

I signed up for one of the offers with Screenselect to get a free dvd but it still hasn't arrived. Does anyone know where to contact to complain?

    Thanks

Edit: Ignore this, I found the contact details!

I have been patient ~ I have paid the subscription for the past 3 months after getting a month free and forgot that I should have also received a free dvd!
I emailed them and was told I would be contacted within 24 hours, still nothing........

Go on to the website Missmuppet and check out the help pages. It shows there how to contact them if you haven't received your free dvd. Not sure how well it works but its worth a try :)

I went and "bought" Pirates of the Caribbean with it!
Technically it was free, but it was an opertunity wasted.

  • Hi,If any of you out there drive a volvo and are going to the dealers at all they have the treasure maps advertised as on tv,but they also have some goody bags with dvd etc in.We got one the other day but that was maybe to just shut me up
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.
  • i have had a terrible time with screenselect. took me 68 days to get my free 20 pound voucher. multiple emails and on one occasion they apologised, telling me that they would send it in the next 28 days! this was after waiting a month.

long waits for DVDs, on occasion waited for 1 week for any DVD to turn up, even with over 15 DVDs in my account. Always seem to get third choice!

screen select is a terrible service i swapped from amazon and will be swapping back. even when i tried to do that they told me that all DVDs must be returned before cancelling, so you need to send them at least a week before, so they are registered at screenselect as returned (this was not the case for amazon).

stay away from screenselect, get the free DVD by all means but don't expect it in a hurry.
