Hi there, I am having a problem with the central heating, the downstairs radiators are not hot, all the upstairs radiators are hot, the boiler is working(I have hot water).
Now My question is what will be the best way, cheapest way to solve the problem, I have no breakdown cover. Is there any way I can subscribe now to any plan? is there any nationwide reliable, cheap repairer?
any help will be apreciated

I am not an expert but I understand from a plumber friend that where there is heating upstairs and not downstairs is often due to sludge in the system.
The sludge sinks to the bottom of the system i.e. the ground floor radiators, which prevents them heating up.
A power flush of the system should normally fix this. I think power flushes cost about £400-£500

I was having a similar problem as the bathroom rad only got warm at the bottom half and the rest of the rads and hot were not hot enough.
The plumber turned up the pressure on the Combi Boilerand bled the rad in the bathroom which was full of air, now everything is fine, hot water, heating all sound. You live..You learn.:)0
