Would you really want to share your internet connection with anyone else?
Firstly if you get someone downloading big files your internet speed will slow down to a stand still.
Secondly they could commit cyber crimes on your IP address and you could have a lot of explaining to do to the police.
Thirdly your home network will become a lot more vulnerable to Local area network attacks, even if they put safeguards in against this hackers will most probably still find a way!
Lastly a lot of ISP’s will only allow you to use your connection for private use, as commercial/business prices are a lot more expensive and because of the reasons above. You may end up in violation of your contract.
Think carefully before you sign up to one of these routers as you’re tied into a 12 month agreement if you read the small print.0 -

I would be very worried about allowing any Tom, !!!!!! or Harry to use my internet connection. They could be viewing/downloading god knows what content on the internet and it will all be registered against my account.
They have UK people on there web sites map thingy.
And it's worth pointing out, in order to use FON you have to register, it's not completly open access you have to either supply access to other people via your router, or register and pay for your use, so it's not entirely without tracking.0 -
Well, there is an article over here:

Reflashing the Router with original software (ie. the Unmodified Fon stuff).
So if I got one of these routers (I need one), registered it, then reflashed it, then what?
I'd rather do it all properly really, so where is actually a cheap, decent wireless router?0
