Hi. I have been asked if it is possible to screen grab a video image using Windows Media Player, and haven't got a clue.
Is there anyone out there that could advise?
I'd be most grateful, thanks

the little button on the top of your keyboard called print screen
press that to select the image you want and then paste it into your selected image editing program0 -
Alternatively use file/save image whilst playing in Media player0

or try snagit ......Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Perhaps the media players are different mine is media player classic down load from http://www.divx-digest.com/software/media_player_classic.html I must admit I didn't realise this function wasn't in the standard media player0

Unfortunately I can't load any software onto the computer in question, so can only work with what is there, hopefully the print screen should do the trick.
Thanks0 -
If you try to take a screenshot (by pressing print screen and then pasting into your application) of Windows Media player while it is playing back a video clip, you normally get a black square returned. This is because of the techniques the computer is using to put the video on the screen. Under Windows Media Player 9 and 10 a screen shot feature is built in for MPEG and MPEG2 content which can be used by just pressing CTRL-i together during playback. If you're feeling down, you must be holding a duck.0

to capture Images from Windows Media Player you need to
Open Window Media Player
Then go to Tools | Options
In Options, select the Performance Tab
Way below you click on the Advanced Button
Uncheck "Use Overlays'
Click Ok
Then just print screen to copy image
I copied this from somewhere a while back0 -
HI.
Thanks everyone, I'm a bit closer, I can do the Print screen edi7on suggested on my computer, but only because I've got Photoshop and paste into a new image.
I doubt the other computer will have any imaging software loaded so I'm still stuck.
Is there any way to use this as a standalone utility and just save a file that can be put on a disc?
Edit: I've just found that I can paste the image into wordpad. I think practically all computers have this loaded so thanks to you I might have cracked it!0
