  • Well you learn something new eveyday, never knew you could use farmfood vouchers in tesco, on the voucher it reads redeemable only in farmfoods. Is there any mention offically of tesco accepting these, bit scared to try in store, not that brave!! :)

Thank you so much for the information in this thread - I nearly always end up at Tesco's, and have thrown out of date money off £ spend for other stores when they have gone out of date - so am now kicking myself for throwing money in the bin!

Here's hoping "my" Tesco's doesn't play up about accepting them.

  • hi, i live in the north east of england and on the 2nd january went into the main TESCO in COULBY NEWHAM MBRO and asked if i could use the MARKS AND SPENCER money off vouchers and was told NO we do not take any vouchers other than vouchers printed in the papers and vouchers that are specific to a product. if anyone in NORTHEAST OF ENGLAND knows of any TESCO i can use my MARKS AND SPENCER VOUCHERS AND SAINSBURY VOUCHERS IN BEFORE end of month i really would appreciate this information. MANY THANKS
  • I would call up the store and ask to speak to the manager as I think there's some confusion . Why would they take non tesco vouchers that are in a newspaper, but not on a flyer.
I was told by my local store (Scotland) that as long as there is a "spend" total on the voucher and I have met this requirement then they will take the voucher. What have you got to lose....give them a phone.

It's easy to explain why there is so much confusion at Tesco regarding compeitors spend - they simply don't train alot their staff properly and alot there staff are also very rude indeed!

I went Warrington 24hr Tesco the other day n produced my £5 wys £25 m n s coupon. C/O said they dont take them, girl behind me in queue (a employee) pipes up, no we don't take them. Told her they do as i used coupons in my local, here's a reciept to prove it and why is there a competitors conditional spend button under coupons on her till (recently added). She asked a guy on the till he said no too, so i asked 4 the manager. Lot eye rolling and tutting from peeps in queue. Ne away the guy off the till comes over, i told him my views he said we dont take them, i said get ur manager then, he wandered off had a rustle through the cupboard n chat to anothr c/o n then produced a document saying they now take competitors spend. Why was he telling me - i already knew! I told him staff should be trained better so that i don't have put up with such incompetence and embaressing behaviour at the till. ne how he apoligised, n i told him thanks and praised him for apoligising as most the staff don't even do this when they are wrong....

So stick to ur guns n take no crap off them cos they tell u ne thing get u out the shop without it being too taxing for them!

good luk n always remember be firm but polite xx

Do you know if the vouchers from the paper have a code you can use to shop online or are they for the stores only? Was about to do an online shop when I noticed this thread :T

  • hi just to let you all know i went into TESCO Coulby Newham tonight and they said they do take competitor money off spend vouchers. i was annoyed as i explained i was in asking on 2nd January and was told NO. anyway to cut long story short i was allowed to use as per condition £10 off £50 spend but was not allowed to reduce bill with any other M$S VOUCHERS shame as i have a few but will try to use by going to another TESCO STORE any way THANKYOU all for you help today.
