Just come back from PC World in Leeds City Centre. They had a special display near the service counter with a variety of reduced media. I got 6X packs of 10 Packard Bell 4X DVD-R Recordables in Jewel cases for £0.47 each (MFR ID optodiscr008). (Sorry I only left one pack.) They also had a good few other bargains. Worth checking out. I am letting you all know this at my own peril because I do want more discs and I'm sure all you MSE'rs can descend on the stores and deprive me of the other bargain disks I'd like to get ;)

I think they had only just put them out today and I noticed a member of staff grab a few packs and take them behind the service counter (presumably to hide them for himself). It may be the same in other PC world stores so it could be worth look whereever you are.

I'm just unhappy that I had recently bought a few packs of 25X Philips DVD-R 8X for £2.97 (think they have the MF ID fujifilm03), still a bargain but not as much of a bargain as some others.

Which branch was that? The Headrow?
I got a spindle of 50 DVD+RWs on Sunday there for £5. It was the only one left.

Yes city centre headrow. It seems the packard bell disks don't want to play ball with my Pioneer DVR-105 writer... unlucky I guess.

Looks like I definitely need to pick up another pack of different ones :)

currently appear to have the +RW disks in Camarthen, Yeovil, Bangor (North Wales), Tottenham Hale (London), Doncaster.

Possibly more places but couldn't think of any names :)
    Welcome, rogerramjet.

Just to say Barnsley seems to have a decent stock of a few lines.

Been into the store today. They have stacks of discount DVDs!

Best deal at PC world Leeds Centre, Headrow, is probably the Logic DVD-R 8X pack of 50 at £2.97 (MFR ID CMC MAG. AF1) - burn at full 4X of my writer no problems.

Reviews of discs with this dye seem good too http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia.php?dvdmediadvdridsearch=CMC%20MAG.%20AF1%20

Not got any of the other disks (Philips 8X, Packard Bell 4X) I bought so far to burn at 4X.

    4X.

I bought loads of these packs from the Romford store. Unfortunatly, I didn't realise they were silver top, and when I got home, they only burn at 2X on my mac mini. Still a good bargain thought I think at 6p a disc, although I might take a few packs back.

I like the silver top gives a nice plain look :) looks like all disks vary with the speed they burn at on different DVD writers. I'm the fool who bought 6 packs of 10 4X disks to find they only burn at 1X on my writer lol. At 47p a pack not complaining
