Hi Ravenfield I cant speak highly enough of the NEC 4570 Dvd re writer. Very fast and very accurate (no coasters!). I have no experience of the pioneer but i think you would be hard pushed to find better than the NEC.
Hi Michelle. DVDs come in different formats (although they look almost the same) . Three formats + , - , and RAM. You need to match the format with that of your recorder/DVD drive although many modern drives are multi format.
Some older DVD players are a bit fussy and prefer one format over another.
Hope this helps.0 -
Does anyone with a pioneer dvd writer has incompatibility issue with this pcline DVDRW media? I am thinking of getting a pioneer 111D to replace my old writer or should i go for other brand like NEC or Liteon? Hear quite some complaints in another forum about this media with Pioneer DVD writer
i own a pioneer 111d and an nec4570a , pioneer is flashed with 1.23 firmware and has burned the pcline dvdrw media fine
nec also burnt the discs fine
how long the burns will last i dont know, i have used cheap media before and over time it does degrade and become unreadable
i normally only use verbatmin now but picked up some of the pc line discs just for 1 off not important burning
hope this helps0 -
Hi emuemu
Between the Pioneer and NEC, which would you recommend? I'm thinking of getting the pioneer as it's cheaper but wonder if there's any issues with reliability or compatibility and hence the cheaper price.0 -
Go for the NEC0

just a quick note that the dvd+rw are available for delivery at 3.99 so 9 quid for 50 dvd rw aint bad if u cant get to a pc world0
