Help My Hair!!!

I didn't know where to post this- what catergory does a major hair emergency come under? I don't think anyone will have the answer to this. I have just coloured my hair and whilst I normally put a blonde colour on as I have a lot of grey hair and have had since I was young I decided to go for a darker shade which was described as light brown and you wouldn't believe my hair--it looks almost black!! I have phoned up the company who makes it and they say there is nothing that can be done!! Any ideas?? I'm frightened to step out of the door!!!!

I was once told that dandruff shampoo helps to fade hair colourant, not a quick solution I know, but its better than using a lightner.

Could you use a blonde enhancing shampoo?

I read that you can get stuff to strip dye out but I don't know what it's called.

If it's any consolation, I have light blonde hair and when I've dyed it black in the past it's faded pretty quickly. You could try bleaching it, putting a red colour on it to stop it going green, then put a light brown on, but it's a fairly major procedure and won't do your hair any good.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

You could go and buy a highlighting kit fairly easy to use. The colour you have used will fade but it will take some time. the choice is to bleach whole lot or use highlight kit which would be better for your hair. If you bleach whole lot its not good for your hair and still might only change it from nearly black to horrible orange colour. Sorry to be bearer of bad news. Even the highlight kit wont completely solve problem but will at least lighten it a bit. its hard to solve problem like this but a good hairdresser will help but of course cost you a fortune. try and leave the highlight bleach on for as long as possible put plastic bag over head of highlight bleach and then some foil over that to keep heat in this will help the bleach to work better. Does that make sense........

Probably no help Loozee, but if nothing else is to be done could you treat it as a radical change for the heck of it? A- look at me I can do anything I want, including changing from blonde to brunette type of thing? Or does it really look awful? Big shock, but if all else fails put on some make up, style your hair and head out there with your chin up and head held high!

Sorry if this sounds a bit flippant, not intended to be, just trying to help you make the best of an unwanted situation.

I've had some reaalllly bad hair dying experiences in the past (including the green tint), sometimes even to the point of racing back and forth to the nearest chemist and spending more than I would have at the hairdressers.

Watch using anything with red in going from nearly black to blonde you will pass the red stage anyway, I was taught that hair goes from black to brown to red to blonde and with all the mediums inbetween and you can only lighten five shades. I used to be hairdresser.

Top tip- live with it until it fades. I went black, then had 3 bleaches to get it blonde again and eneded up burning my scalp!
