Sky suddenly charging for moviews from 2003

Hi

I wonder if anyone can offer some advice on this? I have been a sky tv customer since 2001 and in December 2009 upgraded to Sky HD ( which I am quite happy with). However I decided to check my bill last night and got quite a surprise when I saw that I have been charged for 8 Box Office movies dating from June 2003 to December 2003 totalling £45???? Completley confused I phoned Customer support who informed me that it must have been because the box was not connected to a telephone line in that period ( incorrect) and since I upgraded to HD it has now picked it up. I have also sent an email of complaint and recieved the reply back just now basically saying sorry but please pay.

I am somewhat angry over this and quite happy to cancel my subscription which I may add has always been paid on time. I moved house in January 2005 and had sky reinstalled then and since then have had a digbox replaced in 2006 so cannot see if I had watched these movies ( which I had not ) how or why I was not charged before.

Had anyone else had a problem similar to this??

as it was more than 6 yrs ago get them to prove you did watch the movies and dont admit to watching them or they will keep after you for payment , if box isnt connected then how could you watch the movies unless you did the old 9v battery trick ,ours hasnt been connected since 10 mins after it was fitted about 7 yrs ago

That's correct, the purchases are logged on the box card & if you did'nt have the phoneline connected, they were'nt downloaded to Sky on the monthly ringback done by the box. When you got HD in,it was.
You may also have had a faulty box modem which would've prevented the ringback too.
