Replace or not to replace LPG boiler

Can anyone out there give me advice - my LPG boiler of 20years is now defunked and I now am looking into the most effective heating source. I live in a listed detached barn - facing south - 40' long - one storey - 13" wide - no mainline gas - LPG is SO expensive I am paying £120 month all through the year for such a tiny place where I can't swing a mouse let alone a cat - I have looked at night storage heaters - they seem too expensive - do I just go for another small wall boiler - I have been quoted £2K - 3K for supply and install - (for some reason the company won't let me buy the boiler myself which would be cheaper) or pump supply - wet underfloor heating - I have a roof over my head but am cash poor - if necessary I could install my old woodburning stove to see me through the winter but that would only heat up one room - there is a tiny kitchen - bathroom - 2 small bedrooms and a sitting room - any advice would be very very welcome a I stand here in my old coat and scarf (these 2kw electric fires give out little heat!)
