Through personal experience I find it strange that even the gas engineers that have called at the house have varying opinions on how best to run a system where they are TRVs and a wall thermostat, this is what makes it all so confusing to the likes of me who doesn't have much knowledge of such things.
There simply is no perfect solution when it comes to siting the room stat. If it is moved to a living room, then the temperature in that room determines the CH operation for the whole house.0 -
I know this will work Cardew as this is what I used to do with my bedroom radiator that didnt have a TRV, I used to turn it down so far so it was almost off so radiator used to only get luke warm. YOu pretty much cut the water off to it.
It does work as I have done it before. If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -

I am wondering if I shut off the hall radiator by quite a bit and opened up the bathroom radiator full and left the bathroom door open slightly do you think that would help? My logic in this is that the bathroom radiator would then more or less be heating both the hall and the bathroom.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I think it will have to be the blanket at this stage as I cannot get the valves to turn on the radiators so at the moment that is the only option for me to try.
I will give an update on how it works.0 -
Ok no worries, you might have to use a spanner to turn the radiator in the hall down.If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0

Unfortunately I don't have a spanner was trying to turn them with a small pair of pliers:rolleyes: Next item for toolbox: a spanner;)0

They might be a bit tight so a small spanner is sometimes what you need if they havent been done for a while! If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0
