We only eat Branston in our house. The sauce is much better in my opinion. If I had to chose another it would be HP! Not overkeen on Heinz at all.

Today I visited Tesco store at Crooks Foot Ashford, Kent and purchased Branston baked beans which says on the shelf 4 for 89p. So we purchased 4 x packs of 4 and were charged £2.34 for each pack! The cashier noticed it and thought it was strange, when I checked my receipt I saw that I had been overcharged this amount, so she said you have to go to customer services, which we did. We were told that it meant 4 single cans and not 4 cans in a pack???? Well she said she would give us a refund, so I thought she was going to refund the difference, well she disappeared, and after a while came back and said there weren't any more and then proceeded to refund the total amount and take the beans back!!!!!

I was livid and asked to see the manager who eventually turned up some 15 minutes later.... she said that it meant individual tins of 425 grams and not the multi-pack, so I said its the same product, she said no its different, so I said oh, I not only have to check different prices between different brands, but now have to check different prices between the same product!!!!!

I said why don't you explain the difference (logically there shouldn't be any difference, shopping is hard enough anyway) and state clearly that it applies to individual tins!!!!

She said its head office that make the price tags up so would you like to complain to head office, I replied I had just waited 15 minutes to speak to her the manager. I told her that as far as I'm concerned your treating us, the customer like idiots, and I believe this is unfair pricing even going so far to be a con, and I can imagine older customers thinking I'll buy 1 tin of beans for 59p, oh no I'll buy 4 for 89p pick up the pack as I did and not realise they get charged full price.

I think that they have suddenly brought these in because of Morrisons and tripped up over the pricing, either way be warned, they don't seem to care.
