Why is my cat making this noise?

Does the location of the howl correspond with an equivalent place for some part of her routine in the old house?
After all,it is her house....We're just slaves to our feline masters & mistresses!:p0 -
Thanks to you all for the advice, I'm glad she's not the only one.
Funnily enough she did make the same noise on the landing of the old house, but not quite as much as she does now.
I can't say if there were cats previously in the house, we have had all new carpets laid so would their scent still be there?
I do try to reassure her but she does carry on for a few more seconds.
Glad to know there are lots of other cat lovers out there!0 -
I have a cat with a very very high pitched howl. Drives me mad and sometimes can go on for ages. No matter what we do, or where she goes, she howls and when she's finished she'll jump on me and purr her head off.
I think it's just cats having funny moments

My 14yo male cat does this, ususally before he's about to do a number 2.
Our cat does this as well, and when he's finished he jumps out of the litter tray and runs away from it

My cat yowls on the landing in the mornings when DH goes for a shower and shuts the bathroom door! She has done it for years. She also does it when she knows DS is at home and still sleeping late. Think she just wants to get company, but wont go in bathroom, sometimes DS lets her in, but usually we keep her downstairs as the yowl wakes anyone up!

One of mine does it when he wakes up after everyone has gone to bed - he's suddenly all alone in the dark and wants to know where we are. I usually call his name then he shuts up and goes about his nighttime business, but sometimes he carries on until one of the other cats gets up (probably to give him a slap for waking her up), then they start nocturnal drag racing. [sigh]
If you speak to her, perhaps she'll relax more.
(btw owee owee owee would mean furballs on the way)
Our smallest kittie does this too - she has always done it since she was tiny. But if you call her she comes trotting in - she just likes to know where the rest of us are hiding. Sometimes we all stay quiet - to see how long it takes her to find us.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Oh dear - are we mean?!?!?:o:o:o
