Upgrade to Office

Hi everyone

Can anyone recommend a good deal for an upgrade from Microsoft Works to Microsoft Office (Word / Excel)? I'm running on Windows Vista at the moment.

Thanks

Or upgrade to free Open Office - its compatible with Word and Excel - looks pretty much like Office 2003. Its very good.

    WAIT!!!!

Office 2010 is soon to be released and is quite a bit better than 2007. I'm waiting around for it, in the mean time you can download the BETA for it (google office 2010 beta) and use that. FREE! (it wont last forever though!)
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

Well i've wrote multiple essays on word 2010, lots of financial statements on excel 2010, and a few presentations on PP 2010, no bugs so far. Far more elegant than 2007.

Your saying you never use BETA's in threat of coming across bugs?

I've been using the free Office 2010 beta and it works better than the retail Office 2007. Havent encountered any bugs and it's faster and easier to use.

Buying Office 2007 now is plain crazy.

If your employer uses it they may be registered with the Home Use Program & you can get a copy for ~£20

Not everyone is in a position to afford brand new software, like saying buying anything but a new Jag is crazy.
Very few use software to its full potential so older versions may suffice.

Don't know how you can construe that out of the 4 words I wrote.

I was just warning of the fact that Beta software is not an official release and may contain bugs, and also may contain security flaws. It's only designed for testing by developers and techies. Beta software is never intended for everyday use.
