Hey,

I have been a loyal PAYG user for many years now, however I've seen many tempting Sim Only Deals on all the networks that have only a 1 month rolling contract and good mix and match of free minutes and txts. Can anyone please advise what the best network is for these sim only deals and is there anything in the small print to be wary of?

O2 have some good 1 month rolling deals through dialaphone - cheapest one is tenner a month (might be cashback deal though).

If you enter the cashback deals on offer - then p&p is something you have to be aware of for sending the claim - particularly good to send signed for.

The minutes on offer do not include premium numbers like 08*.
Text messages are for SMS texting, not MMS but O2 used to deduct 4xSMS allowance per MMS I sent (not sure if that is still the case).

Dialaphone are pretty good cashbacks - plus you get some money off using quidco.
The offers on dialaphone mean you have to stick with it 4 months at least to get the cashback and give a 30 day notice if you do not continue with o2 after 4 months.

The alternative is to go direct to O2 and pay something like £20 a month for sim only and get internet included.

Pardon my ignorance but the free minutes are these any time minutes and how can you tell how many mins you have left??

The free minutes are any time, any network - knowing how many you have left - well you can call operator, might be a number you can text to find out, use a phone which tracks your usuage, might have online billing (beware cashback deals you need paper bill or a printout).

and also only as good as what best signal is where you are or go. O2 are good as they are the biggest network so coverage will be good in most places.
    Kind Regards

I was with Virgin payg for years. I went on to a Virgin monthly rolling contract deal at the start of the week, 200mins anytime cross network, 3000+ texts per mth for £10. You can phone them free for an update on your talk time & texts left for the month.

Because I had a virgin sim already I was up & running just after I left the shop with my original mobile number.
