I was planning on sending a photo anyway.

If i was to ask for compensation - how should i base that?

why would you want to ask for compensation?? were you effected physically or mentally?? did the screw injure you?? no and no, be like a real human, contact them with the FACTS, and inform that they should take action to ensure it doesnt happen again, nexttime someone could damage their teeth or even choke. As others have said they might be thankful and compensate you in there own way
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

i bought some tinned fish a few years ago and it had a screw in it.

i went back to the company and they said they had had a full confession from the perpetrator:

apparently, he put the screw in the tuna

I found a nut in my dinner a few years back at a national food chain restaurant.

To be fair, pretty much all restaurants do state on the menu that the dishes may contain traces of nuts.:p

its a dilemma I agree. You could hang a picture, fix that wobbly chair leg or even save it for that rainy day when you need a screw and can't find one......

On a serious note, refund and a voucher is the usual approach :)
