(safe) clubbing in manchester?

Hi
can anyone reccommend a good, safe club in Manchester for my daughter to go to on her 25th birthday? Music themes she prefers are R&B, reggae, Latin American and 80s/90s.
When I say safe I mean somewhere with a nice party atmosphere and not a junkie hideout and not known for being violent
.
thanks.

Is this serious? surely at 25 your daughter is capable of finding herself a suitable night club???? I'd be mortified if my mum did this to me and i'm 23 and disabled.0

Blimey! Who rattled your cage?- Its time you had a look at the Forum Etiquette sidebar and got a refresher.
actually she is disabled too, not that that has any bearing on anything.
And I should point out that she has ASKED me to do this FOR her, (not "to" her as you so unpleasantly say). She just thought that there would be some young MSErs with some constructive advice - and I'm sure there will be. Just not you!
How else is she supposed to find out? We live 30 miles away from M/c and she knows no one there. Short of trawling up and down the streets (which she couldn't physically do anyway) or paying to go into every club...... Websites for clubs do not give a true flavour of their atmosphere.

I don't know whether it's just me but I've never felt unsafe in nightclubs in Manchester.
R&B isn't a music genre I particularly enjoy so can't give any specific advice but anywhere on Oxford Road or Deansgate are pretty safe.0 -
Perhaps you should try googling nightclubs in manchester and then read reviews? Or arrange a party closer to home so that you don't need to worry about being safe in manchester? Also being disabled is an important factor in choosing a night club, would she cope with one with loads of stairs or does she need one with seating?0

As a general rule the student clubs are safe and usually pretty good. I mostly dance to indie and rock type stuff, so I don't think the clube I liked would be suitable. 42nd street might do an 80's or latin night possibly. There's also Pangea which by all accounts is an amazing night out, but it's on the 31st of Jan so I don't know if that's in time to be a birthday treat. website's here;

It never fails to amaze me how many parents post on this forum asking questions on behalf of their kids. If they can't find the relevant information themselves, then they should be the ones posting. I'd never ask my mum to sort stuff like this out for me - I take the initiative and do it myself.Is this serious? surely at 25 your daughter is capable of finding herself a suitable night club???? Better be careful, helicopter parents don't like criticism (just look at her reply to me).0
