Friend, who is registered blind and walks with the aid of a long cane, was complaining vehemently today about how many people don't bother to trim back their hedges. Says he is constantly walking into hedges that stretch half way across the pavement and obviously haven't been trimmed in years. Result, scratched face, glasses on floor etc. etc.

Agree this is a problem not just for partially sighted but everyone. Often you are forced out into the road because of the hedges. If you ring your local council they will write to householders. If householders fail to act the Council should trim the offending hedges and charge the householder.
Also parking cars on pavements. The pavement outside your house does not belong to you so get off it!~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

I sacked my gardener last year and need to get a new one, otherwise I won't see the wood for the trees.

To explain I have rheumatoid arthritis, and have a lot of difficulty getting about, I have four & a half lawns which I can't do myself, so I need the help of a gardener.
I'd rather be able to do it meself Loopdiloop, honestly.0 -

Would you - I hate it. I have a chronic bad back so Mr P bought me a lightweight hoverHe works so hard and has to help out with his parents that he doesn't get time to do ours. Wish I could afford a gardner - but I don't want to work full time so back to me hover ::)
