    I sent one last night.
  • i know for experience that you can take the half £10 note into the bank they will give you a form to fill in and you send it off to the bank of england after so many day (think its 30 days) the other half has not been sent in to claim the whole £10 that the bank of england will send you a cheque for the full amount.
I worked in hotel and me and a friend was tiding up after a funtion and we found a half £10 note I took it in to a bank and I was given a form to fill in and send off and few weeks later a cheque was sent to me for £10 which i shared with my friend as we both had found it

    MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

I once found a 10Pound note in the street that had been run over and then been sitting in a puddle for a while...didn't look good and had a couple of rips and some pieces missing. I took it to my bank and they just had a quick look under UV light(blacklight?) and then gave me a sparkly new tenner :)
