It's frustrating when she doesn't respond, and it is her issues, but i'm determined to get inside the barriers. If I don't try i'll never know

You people are trying to make me go mad :rotfl:
Hey guys - what is it with all the cold turkeys & monkeys ?

I was thinking of you yesterday hun and I hope your appointment went well. I know it's hardly a trip to the seaside but it's good that you're getting the help you deserve. Good for you.

Hi welsh!
Welcome to the 1-In-4 Club!;) It's nice to meet you although I'm sorry we all had to meet on a depression thread. There's a great group of people here, always great advice floating around.
It is normal to worry about taking ad's (anti-depressants) or other meds for mental ill health hun. I can understand your fear angel. I have problems with anxiety etc too. With you having anxiety & panic attacks, you are already going to feel anxious about any changes or something new like this. the anxiety is part of the illnesses you have hun. I think we all are scared (darn it, I've split an infinitive! ) when we start our meds. For someone with anxiety, it's double. Believe me welsh, not only have I been there and bought the T-shirt, but I'm now also selling them at £4.99 each!;) You do have choices hun.-You can stay as you are with no meds.Maybe you could take it on Monday because at least you'll know there's a full support network around if you need it. You might find this reassuring.
-You can see your dr or CPN & talk to them about it.
-You can start the medication.
Generally speaking, I believe it's usual practice to start someone on the minimum dose of a new med as a precaution. That way, they can monitor how the med is working for you. If you like it and it likes you, it's generally increased slowly. Any concerns about your meds/treatment should go to your GP/dr/CPN angel as they are the best ones to calm your fears.
Surely anything is worth a try if it's going to help hun? Don't be afraid to say how you feel to your team - they'll have heard all this before! And if this med doesn't do the trick, there are many more they can try.
You've been brave enough to get help - well done you :T - now you've got to use some of that courage to use the help hun. If there are any problems angel, call your drs immediately. Sometimes it helps to remember that these people are professionals & take everything into account before they prescribe treatments. They give the least meds they can to make you better wherever possible. Feel free to jump in here any old time. Some of us are suspected of having a sense of humour - although this has yet to be confirmed! :rotfl:
I hope this has helped a little angel and I wish you well.
Best wishes,
Tiff xxx"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought." ~ by Peace Pilgrim.***'You just got Tiffed!'***0 -
Morning Tiff, couldn't you sleep, or are you up for a reason?“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0

Good moaning guys! (I know what I typed!
)
I hope Saturday will be a good day to us all. Thanks for the Tiff hugs guys. I do appreciate the trouble you go to. :T
I was being silly to get upset but as you all will understand, we get like that sometimes - or is it just me?! Must confess, the Tiff feels exhausted. Feel more like Bagpuss than Tiff right now!:rotfl:
On the bright side, I did phone my CPN yesterday & told him that the woman who works with me is now on annual leave & he said he is going to stop by for a quick visit Monday a.m. - he has to come to my town where the mental health centre is to do some paperwork briefly- & will be available on his work mobile if I need help. That's so very kind of him.
A lot of us are having a rough time recently that I thought I'd repost an excerpt from one of my posts on page 10 (serves you right!:D ). To our new friends, don't be frightened - I've just got one of those senses of humour!
QUOTE[[ It's amazing how your priorities change when you suffer from mental ill health...I've made myself a little 1st Aid Kit in a pretty box for when things are too hard and I disappear into my room. Take a nice cup of tea too. Only one rule : nothing negative/depressing/sad /sharp and no alcohol allowed! - well if I can't drink, why should you?!:D
Ingredients as follows:
- biggest bar of chocolate you can find (er...until I became allergic to dairy products 4 years ago!)
- cat or dog -do not keep in box as you will be arrested...(er...until I became allergic to them 5 years ago and had to rehome!
)
- a cold smooth glossy stone (not to be used in conjunction with windows or other people! )
-a tape or cd of your favourite music to soothe you (only usable when 16 year old DS is out of the house - hardly ever - and doesn't have tv, music, & phone going at the same time both upstairs and down!_pale_ )
- photos of your favourite things/people/places (but not if they're the reason you're depressed! )...(or if afore-mentioned DS has used your digital camera & deleted your pictures before you could print them! )
- your 1st Barry Manilow album (it'll either kill you or cure you!:rotfl: )...(yet another of my dreams that never came true!)
-textures like a feather (preferably off the bird!;) ), (er...until I became allergic to feathers 3 years ago)...
I just reviewed my happy box... kinda empty...
AND YOU WONDER WHY I'M ON MEDICATION!!!!!:rotfl:
S*d it, grab a chinese takeaway (and yes, I'm allergic to that too!), a bottle, as much chocolate as you can find, any man under 60 without his own labrador and stick, and I'll be round in an hour!_party_
Seriously, (oh do we have to? )the idea of a happy box is to make you feel special/ comforted when you need it most and I think the next thing I'll be putting in mine, is some of these wonderful posts.]]QUOTE.
Maybe I should take some of my own advice!
Huge hugs to Rosie and Ruby in hospital - thinking of you. Huge morning Tiffy hugs to everyone - please look after yourselves guys.
May be back later if I can.
Much love

Morning beer!How are you hun?
Tbh, Tiff's sleep is all over the place. Still it keeps the gang all on their toes because they never know when Tiff's going to come through the catflap!:rotfl: Another reason is if I'm up early, I can post what I want and be back out the catflap before they can get me!:D
Nah, it's just that my sleep isn't regular at the moment. How about you - do you have a reason for being an early bird today hun?
Hope the day is good to you.....see, I told you you'd come back to the board!;) Hoping all is well with you?
Much Love,

All's good here, just been awake for ages, so decided to get up. Got to get up a 5am on Monday anyway, so its good to keep in training.
Love to you too Tiffie
The day is going to be good, lets both be positive shall we.
I don't know if you know, but I'm on the 3rd day of ciggie holidays and the craving hit at 4.44am this morning............ which is a little odd as I don't normally smoke in the mornings anyway.
What are you up to today? and have you got a cat like thatWe used to have a white one.

I know the feeling - I've just got a 16 year old DS who has to get up at 5.30a.m. to get ready for 1 and a half hour bus ride to Stratford for College. But I've been getting up anywhere between 3 and 4am over the last few weeks. I'm one of those annoying people who once they're awake, that's it, got to get up. Of course by 2pm, I'm ready for a couch nap!:rotfl: Aren't they the best?!
Beer - well done you re ciggies!:T Good for you - it doesn't sound like you're a heavy smoker. Keep up the good work hun.
At least 2 couch naps scheduled along with laundry and ironing for a year!:j:o
Ds will be off later to stay with ex-husband & his girlfriend later overnight so if I'm still awake, I might be abe to get online!:D
DS is doing diploma in performing arts so has different dance outfits for different dance classes, as well as acting and also a change of tops if they get into anything strenuous. He says he'll look after me when he hits the big time (which I think he will truly hit the big time as he passed all college auditions without having had any training when he was younger. I guess if you have a natural talent, it's going to come out regardless.) - I hope I'll still be around by that point!:D He's a good lad - I just want him to be able to support himself not me bless him.;)
We had a stray white cat we took in when we lived in Virginia - pure white with a brown tip on end of his tail and one blue eye and one brown eye which was infected. We were going through some really hard times financially & he appeared, came in for a bowl of water, got cleaned up, fed, cuddled, called him Popeye and stayed for 6 weeks!
Suddenly, and I kid you not, things started to get better for us & just as we made a really good decision that helped us & turned everything around, he was suddenly gone! Just never came back the day after our luck changed! I'll try & post a Tiff piccie later.what are you up to today? Tea at The Ritz?
take care hun.
Much Love,

Well I was a heavy smoker really, only used to smoke in the mornings when I drove a long way though.
That does sound a bit too good to be true with the cat, but who am I to question something like that? Thats amazingmakes you wonder. It would be lovely to think it could really be true.
Tea at the.............. yepclass all over, thats me. No work on today, of the 2 tasks I set myself yesterday, I only did one, so I've got that to do and I'll have to set myself some other things to do, so I don't just mope around all day pining for ciggies, or waste the whole day on MSE
I can't do naps, I'm normally at work somewhere anyway, otherwise DD will be jumping on me, or something somewhere will need feeding. I have problem enough sleeping at night!
Your son sounds really motivated, that is great, I'm very happy for you and him. Best of luck to him.
xx
Off to have a shower. See you later“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0 -

I'm on 20mg citalopram.. don't worry, they're very gentle.. I've not had any side effects at all - they just give you enough of a lift to keep you going, if you know what i mean? takes a couple of weeks to see any effect and then all of a sudden you just realise that things aren't quite as much of a struggle as they were.. hope this helps put your mind at rest about them☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆
