Have you been referred for some counciling. It doesn't work for everyone but at least you can talk about what's going on in your head without feeling guilty, being judged or burdening those close to you.

My dr said that as I didn't know what set me off it probably wouldn't work. I think I would find it difficult to open up to a stranger anyway, but its probably what I need.

Luckily I have a friend who has also suffered in the past and she has been really good at making me open up and be honest.

I found counselling helped but I couldn't truely open up because I still felt I would be judged, its a lot easier opening up to a stranger though.

Thanks for the hugs, need lots of them at the min! I don't want to be all negative, if you genuinely are ready to come off them that's wonderful, but for me coming off them has been a huge mistake. If others can learn from my mistake, then at lteast if has benefitted someone!

My trouble is that I don't know if I am and although it is two months away til it gets reviewed I am already starting to think about life with med. Maybe the answer is that if I am not sure if I am ready than I probably aren't.

Counselling helped me a bit, but found that there were still some things I couldn't talk about. Got a lot of things off my chest though and it was someone to listening to me that I didn't have to worry about getting bored / not wanting to talk to me etc.

Still couldn't talk about things like my sex life tho, my counsellor was a very nice 60 year old woman!

Maybe when I go back I should push to go to a counsellor and just go for it. I think oh has probably heard enough of me rambling on about how I am feeling and he deserves a break from it

Its so hard to say with everyone been so diffrent, if you have doubts though you need to discuss them, you can always go back on them if needed.

True and there are still things that I haven't told him and if he is part of the problem than speaking to someone else is the way to go. Just wish it wouldn't cost money to go to a counsellor:rolleyes:

I was lucky she knew I was earning a lot and so charged me £20 a session when its normally £40.

It didn't help become more confident though something I lack a lot off.

Should be able to get councelling on NHS quite quickly as it the recognised second line treatment for mild depression after meds on thier own. All pcts have a responsibility to provide it. Sometimes it's available at the gp surgery.
