I have a new Pc and I wish to put my ipod music back into a new Itunes. I can't seem to do it as itunes will not allow music to go back onto the PC. I have found some programs but they have a free trial of 14 days and 100 tracks. I have 7gb of music to move.
I don't want to sync the itunes and ipod yet as I will loose loads of musc.
Does anyone know of any easy to use free pograms or another way to move it ? thanks in advance Rob

It deosn't require instal. You can just run it from wherever you extrct it to. I keep a copy on my Ipod.0 -
Use PodUtil. The software is free, although you will be prompted after 100 tracks transfered to register- but you can decline if you wish and just carry on.
The software is loaded onto the host pc then you just start it up and plug in your ipod - very easy to do.
There is also a way of setting your ipod up so that the PC treats it as another hard drive. Maybe another can advise on this.No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
This is quite an old thread, so am asking if there is any more up-to-date info please...
I want to move music from my Ipod Nano, to Itunes on my new laptop.
I have to get this right, as I've stuff on my Ipod that is very very precious (live gig recordings etc).
If there is a reliable downloadable programme, that would be great..or should I pay an expert to do it??
thanks all0 -

And the only place you have it is on an Ipod????
Can't be that precious then!
You could just read the apple guide HERE.0 -
Well..i've had a look at the apple guide, thanks..but am worried about plugging my ipod into my new laptop, as I suspect that it will try to Sync right away, thereby deleting my precious Ipod music, and replacing with what i've already got on my new laptop Itunes.
Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.
thanks again0 -
Quick Google chucks up:In iTunes choose iTunes > Preferences (on a Mac) or Edit > Preferences (on a PC), click iPhone, and select “Disable automatic syncing for iPhones and iPods.” then press OK.
If this checkbox is selected, iPhone won’t sync automatically, even if “Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected” is selected in the Summary pane. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Yes, but you CAN'T change this option until the iPod is connected, and the default behaviour is Auto-Sync, so the first thing iTunes will do is Auto-Sync to the new PC's library..... UNLESS
iTunes notices that the iPod has already been sync'd to another library, and it SHOULD prompt the user to ask if they want to sync it to the current library........ but I wouldn't rely on that, without knowing which version of iTunes is in use - because I seem to recall that this was added in later versions......0
