British Gas Service Call let down

Hi ,
We came back from Holiday on Saturdayr to find our boiler had Packed in .
After much ringing about we decided to go with service call . Paid our dues , was told there was no engineers available sunday . We booked a 9-5 appointment monday which they never turned up . I phoned and they booked another appointment for 12-2 and guess what no show.. Now I am waiting for them to turn up . I have a toddler and wasnt placed on the emergancy list till today , both my husband and I have taken days off to cover these appointments unpaid. British gas have informed me they do not reinburse loss of earnings .
I know the weather is diar , but I expect them to have adequate facilities to attend appointments .
Where do I stand with this ????:mad:

Okay update , third appointment no show . This is getting ridiculous . Appointment now tommorrow between 8-10 am... They did the same to me yesterday. I cancelled (hope that they have not taken money out of my account) and immediately rang a local plumber who came out straight away. I may have been lucky with the latter. He cost a lot less than British gas as well0

My OAP mother who's GCHS is still under warranty, and covered by Scot Gas, arm of BG. Boiler went on the blink just before new year, mum called BG, she was asked if she had a gas fire, to which she replied "yes" to be told, you're not a priority.
I was raging when I was told this, I called a gas safe registered friend who did repair in just under 1/2 an hour. I then called BG and told them to Rrrrrrammmm their contract where the oys, the sun dont shine.
BG don't deserve to be in business with service contracts!!

British gas turned up , have toddled off now to find pump leaving his tools as a disclaimer lol . Suggested we ned a filter fitted to prevent clogging up . I thought that they just quoted over the phone for the job - usually £160, no matter how big or small it turns out to be. That's what they did with me. It turned out that it was only snow that had blown through my flue and soaked the inside of the boiler and so only needed drying off. The local engineer saved me £110 in the end:rotfl:0

Depends if you have a contract that includes call outs parts and/or labour. With or without excess (monthly price depends on this) Altough waiting that long is shocking. Ask for some compinsation for the missed appointments (about £15 per missed call)
P.S Dizzy, Do you work in Uddingston? As this is were the home care office is located. (others are energy offices)0 -
Nope got a contract that includes parts and labour for 20 quid a month but doesnt include cleraning the pipes , although i do have to check this out .
Nope I work in manchester , near a famous football and cricket ground lmao ...
You should be able to figure out where I am duggie.
Although it took the Admin 4 days to coordinate the poor engineer, he had to go from one side of manchester to the other just to get the part .
i have a toddler and was mortified that i was not put on the priority list to start.
Once Im sorted I wil be popping over to speak to a few people..
