messed about by Sky!!

Looking for some advice, i'm really cheesed off with Sky.

Jan 12th 2009 I got a friends & family discount code giving me 12 months free sky tv. I have BT vision aswell, which I used primarily, we really only took the Sky to watch Lost in February.

October 2009 I call up Sky to find out when and how I need to cancel my account so I'm not charged anything - I never watch the Sky channels so don't need to continue my account. He tells me just to call up in January to cancel - simple. However, he then asks why I'd be cancelling, and end up having an arguement with him as he just cannot believe that I'd prefer BT Vision to Sky - he hung up on me (not my fault, trust me I hate confrontation and wouldn't get narky!!).

So today - January 5th - I call up to cancel to be told by a woman that I need to advise them 31 days in advance to cancel. £23 is coming out of my account in a week or so whether I like it or not, as they request the payment 14 days prior. I explain I'd been told otherwise and want the DD cancelled - but she says no can do. She also spent 20 minutes trying to persuade me to stay with Sky (even though I told her I never watch it).

The advisors NEVER listen.

I've written an email of complaint - I don't want to pay them a penny... but not sure how successful I'll be.

Grrr!!

    Tip,
Whenever you speak to Sky,get the agent's Chordiant ID.
They get a collective bonus every 6 months, the more they sell, the higher the bonus.

Perhaps its worth pointing out that when you have a 12 month contract then due to the fact that you have to give 31 days notice you should cancel at the end of the 11th month.
