Yes, and if you have problem's and want to change to another supplier they then charge for if you don't change on your renewel date. This cost me £67 last month. they claim that they send a letter to remind you that your contract is renewing but i didn't recive it. good luck.

Also with BT you can use an indirect supplier like www.18185.co.uk to place some calls cheaper.Other suppliers dont have to allow access.
I know about 18185, but whats this £36 credit about for new customers?0 -

I had problems tracking down the right department. Got put on hold so gave up. Lady on option 1 didn't know anything about the offer.0

No you can only get the offer by calling BT customer options team (same people that give the £36.00 credit).
It is a 12 month auto renewable contract like the evening and weekend offer.
0800800030 option 1 to get it but you have to ask for it.
The message on this 0800 number says "If you're calling to cancel your broadband or request a MAC code press 1".
So instead I called 150 and asked to be put through to the Customer Options Team. The person there didn't know about the £36 credit and £3.99 for Anytime deals. They only knew about a £24 credit (£2 per month). They went away for a long time to try to find info about the £36 deal, but were unable to do so.
Questions:
1. Is that 0800 number, and then choosing Option 1, really the right people to speak to, despite it saying that it's for broadband cancellation and MAC code requesting?
2. How do I find someone who knows about the £36 credit + £3.99Anytime deals?
Thanks!0 -
A few calls later, I'm being told by Customer Options that the £36 credit is no longer being offered.
The best they can offer is a £24 credit and Anytime for £3.99 per month.
So, overall, effectively £3 saving per month, not a £4 saving per month (which a £36 credit + £3.99 Anytime would equate to).
Is anyone currently being offered any better than that by BT?
Thanks!0 -
I have just been on the phone to BT and the system is down but she said the deal they could over me was the anytime package at a monthly rate of £4.99 and a credit of £36.00.But i would have to phone back later when the system was back up.
Doesn't seem a bad deal as the anytime cost would over the 12 months work out at £1.990
