Ex Demo Car with Double the Milage
I bought an 09 car from Dees of Wimbledon (Fords main dealer) on 24th Dec 2009.
The advertised millage was 4000 miles, this is also stated in the invoice and on the service book which was stamped the day before. I have just seen that the mileage is actually over 8000 miles!!!
I was also promised 12 car tax which is also on the invoice with only 3 months given.
A few niggling issues like soaking wet front and rear carpets and a hanging off parcel shelf have been reported to them.
I have been told by someone who used to work for a main dealer is that i have 14 days to return the car as it was sold with misrepresentation and under the sale of goods act im entitled to a full refund.
Now the 14 days is up this Friday (8th Jan) and i really need some advice on where i stand.
Cheers
Rob

I don't understand?
When you went to the dealer to look at the car and test drive it before buying did you look at the mileage? Was it 4000 then?
When did you take delivery of the car?
When you pointed out at delivery that the mileage was now 8000 and not what was on the paperwork what did they say?0 -
If its a Ford Direct car, you can use their 30 day exchange plan
"If for any reason you wish to change your Ford Direct vehicle, you may exchange it once within the first 30 days or 1,000 miles (whichever is sooner) as long as it is:- Returned to the Dealer you bought it from
- The same vehicle that was sold to you (including tyres and options etc)
- In the same condition as sold
- Exchanged for another car of the same or higher price"

Are you sure that the 8,000 displayed is the miles driven and not the miles until the next service as can ben displayed in a number of makes?
If it is your total mileage, as another poster mentioned, why on earth didn't you pick up on this at the dealers as well as the other issues, especially the road tax.0 -
i wouldnt accept the car with 1 day less tax or 1 mile more mileage than is written in the contract. take it back friend!Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
Take it back, tell them you are too stupid to be safe on the roadIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0
