  • I like it.

It seems more thorough than the old budget planner. I like the fact you can save it from the beginning and you have all the advice down the side as you are going through.

Thanks. It looks like it has taken tons of time to do. But it will save me loads of time and (hopefully) money.

    as above poster mentioned.

It came back saying I spend more than I earn - but the box on the right says 'congratulations you spend LESS than you earn etc etc.

Other than that very straightforward to use

Worked fine for me in Opera, but as I get paid 4-weekly I either have to divide this by 4 and make it a weekly figure or I show up as earning less annually then I actually do (which made the difference between being good or bad).

However, I appreciate that would probable be a bit more of a !!!!!! to program.

Worked OK for me in IE 8.

A couple of comments - one of the categories I spent most in was savings and investments (just because of the figures I put in) - not sure pinpointing this as an area for making savings is that sensible! Looking back it appears that mortgage rent is excluded from this suggested saving so possibly savings and investments could be as well.

Secondly as you put the numbers in, the intuitive thing for me to do was to click the monthly box to change it to weekly or annual etc. However what this actually does is enter the number in the box and refresh the screen so you end up with the frequency box jumping back to where it was so you have to do it again. Not sure how you could change this but it does get a bit annoying after a while.

    Step 2 Income.

Drop down options for pay frequency need a 4 week option. This is quite common.

  • Really like it, well done! All worked fine for me. I've been looking for a comprehensive checking tool like this, others I have found don't have enough categories and difficult to see the breakdown.

    Step 3 category 1

Council tax frequency. This dialog needs to address the fact that council tax is normally paid 10 times a year
