Lawn Scarification

I scarify mine after the last cut of the year.
I can't imagine it would be worthwhile when the ground is frozen.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Scarifying should be done late September to mid October.0

Some people do it in early spring or in late Autumn. If you were to try and do it in the current climate I'm pretty sure you would do serious damage to the machine.0

Cancel the appointment.
All the lawn care books and websites I've read make it clear you are not suppose to walk on frozen lawns let alone do any work on them.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
I often forget/don't get around to doing mine in the autumn and do it in the spring. Never found any problems although the books do say it's best in autumn. Can damage the new delicate grass shoots if done after the grass has started to grow.0

I run a lawn care company - never, ever, ever go near a lawn with a scarifier when their is any snow or frost on it !
Heavy scarifying should be done in the Autumn lighter scarifying can be done in the Spring - that said it all realy depends on the individual lawn and the weather at the time you are doing it.0
