    Hi Martin,

Having now studied your proposed new layout I have a couple of further points.

The 'Cards & Loans to Protecting your Pocket' section might perhaps need an 'Anything Else' button. (Not much room for additional subjects that may be added at a later date)

Does the 'Latest money saving' section update itself on posting or is this done manually by one of the BGs? I assume these will be scrutinised first to prevent 'site wreckers' having fun.

I think also a 'My Money Saving ' link that takes you straight to your previous postings will be good. It'll tell non members that we are a community.

The layout is very god and well thought out but I still feel the colours are a bit hypnotic and agree about the 'WARNING' point. a simple 'OI' or 'HEY' might be prefered. Or a pic of fivers being burned might do the trick. Especially with 'Real flame effect'

One last thing. Would it be possible to put the name of the Mod of each section on a list somewhere or perhaps put each Mods name at bottom of relevant page?

    Hi Rizla,

I think you've got a wee bit confused. Those buttons are all main site not chat forum - so all are articles. The forum will change a wee bit in colour, but will work the same way as it does now.

Interestingly I got the next draft of the home page today, with the changes I'd requested in it - I think you'll like it - but Im not going to be putting it up until after my hols :)

If you can do one thing to improve the site, it would be to fix the search function. It is rubbish. I don't know why it is rubbish, because computers are very good at searching for strings. I often search for previous posts that I know are there, and it just doesn't work, or sometimes it finds it if I wade through the advanced search function. The 3 character limitation is also a pain. Most annoying of all, when you get the "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms" message, the back button doesn't work.

I heartily agree with albertross on this - the search is not good at all.

And there appears to be a lot of articles about saving money on phones and little else!

Seriously tho, I did think of 'THE SUN' when I first viewed it.
(Different colours but same 'In yer face' appearance).

Then I thought 'Thompsons Holiday Brochure'

    Not very sophisticated looking.

The layouts good but why all the colour?

spot on and as savvy said ,it looks like ringtone advert

    Hi rizla,

It's not extremely prominent so not many people spot it but if you scroll further down the main forum page, underneath the list of boards is a link to a page that shows you who all the Board Guides (it's important to emphasise they're not moderators) are and which boards they're guides on.

Also, when you're looking at a particular board (though not within a thread) if you scroll down to the bottom, on the right are the names of the Board Guides for that board.

    Hope that helps :)
Could you do with a Money Makeover?

    Thanks for the reply Martin.

That's the best thing about this site. The main man is actually deeply involved and has a presence.

.........But I don't remember reading a post where you actually asked us if you could have a holiday, Martin?

What would be cool is if under a user preference section for the new site, you could select a theme. There could be 3 or 4 different colour themes, that way you could choose your preferred one.

Not too tricky to do (graphics are usually the tricky part), although it requires all the html/css elements to be referenced and structured efficiently.

On the subject of stylesheets, it'd be good to get rid of the "printable version" links, and instead just have a "print" stylesheet file.
