Storage Heating problem

Hi all,
Hopefully someone might be able to give an easy answer on this. I have Electric storage that heats up the water overnight. Problem is the off peak switch doesn't seem to heat the water up although the light on the switch is on?
The strange thing is that the on peak switch works and it also heats the water up? So there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the boiler. I have changed the fuse in the off peak switch but it has made no difference.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Regards
Gareth

Do you mean an immersion heater??
Does it have two elements? Could one of the elements have blown?
Are you sure it is connected to the off peak supply? Ours is connected to the main electric supply and uses cheap rate on E7 rather than being connected to the heat circuit like the storage heaters.0 -

I would have to say, that ours is exactly the same too, it is unusual for the off peak supply to be connected to the water or immersion heater. We have a timer that we set so that it coincides with the off peak times of economy 7, the light comes on when it is heating the water. You may want to check the element as Katie-Kat-Kin suggests.0
