T Mobile Web and Wait mobile broadband

I'm presently in argument against TMobile because it's so call Web'n'Walk mobile broadband is too slow to be of any use for internet surfing.

The service it delivers is equal to using an old 56k modem. Tried in numerous different locations with the same slow service.

If you telephone Technical support they ask which area you are in (postcode) and your broadband simcard number and then suddenley you can receive fast internet access until you've put the phone down to Technical support, then the conection resumes it's extremely slow connection.

I've complained to Tmobile and cancelled my direct debit only to then receive threats from debt collectors called Buchananclark&Wells.

I'm aware that Sale and Supply of Goods and Services has been breached by Tmobile for not supplying a service fit for use but they are not accepting that criticism and are enforcing their demands via debt collectors.

Can anyone offer good advice on how to get out of this contract for this Web'n'Wait service?

Thanks

  • I gave T-Mobile a try mainly because they offered 1GB download and wouldnt charge you if you went over.

There download speeds at best where only 0.5 MB, also they render(downscale) all there images, which is no good at all. I ended up calling one of the tech support guys to have them double check everything.

The techy i got was very open with me inregards to there service which i was surprised at. No BS or Sales scrap just straight up and honest, and actually knew what he was talking about. He more or less advised me to use another network for what i was trying to achive.

When i signed upto T-Mobile i had some issues, just getting my account sorted out, and the guy in the shop was very helpfull with sorting out my problem too. I must say the Customer Service i got from both people was First rate, just shame about there Data Speeds, but they dont own any network they sub lease.

I wouldnt recommend there Broadband to anyone!!!

It's never a good move to simply cancel a DD because any company is going to do what TMobile have done and pass it over to debt collectors. You'll likely get a black mark on your credit record too.

Not sure how to fix the situation now other than calling them again and seeing what can be done. The problem is that they now have the upper hand because you have provably defaulted on the contract.

The biggest mistake networks made was calling it 'broadband' just so people would know what it was. People then (maybe subconsciously, or maybe through technical ignorance) assume it'll be similar to what they get at home. (Please, I'm attacking the network here, not the consumer).

In all the right conditions, mobile broadband is very good. Conditions are rarely "all right", though. And even when they are, over subscription or people trying to bittorrent across it just ruins it for everyone else regardless. I've been lucky with Three, as I live in an area primarily full of people 80+ who wouldn't know mobile broadband if you bopped them on the nose with it.
