Heating

Hi

We have been having our heating on approx 25oC for 2 hours on morning and 3 hours tea time. I have now turned it down to 18oC and put the heating on constant.

Does anyone know if this is more economical way to run your heating?

Im just worried the bill is going to be huge doing it this way.

Thanks

  • Unlikely to be more economical.
To know what the difference is, why don't you run each method for a day and take meter readings to compare. You need similar weather / temperature conditions, but this week is forcast to be similar most days.
  • The only way to know is to moniter your usage, do a week of one and a week of another and compare meter readings. The insulation of your home will be crucial, in a well insulated home it may be cheaper leaving it on 18C all the time, and may also be more pleasent.

The other thing to try would be 20C for all the time you are in and awake and right down low or off the rest of the time.
