phone not recieving messages

got into a text conversation last night and sent about 15 or so messages and no replies, various people and networks, didnt get anything back, had a coupe lof calls saying they'd replied but not had their delivery report come up, one recieved a text last night at 9pm i'd sent at 11am yesterday. same this morning, sent a few, nothing, then text my sister, her reply came through straight away, usually this 'free's up' the jammed texts and they come flooding through, any ideas as to what it is? my new phone (got it for christmas) or the network (O2)
