Hi all - glad to be in the warm - most definitely not a heating off day today! Nice to see the thread so busy again :j

    Today I have:
    1) Had a LSD, well under a fiver anyway - a couple of books in the charity shop and a necklace and brooch from Dotty P's at 70% off. One book is full of homemade presents to make which will hopefully be DFW.
    2) Read the newspaper online and paid the 45p I would usually spend into my moneybox instead.
    3) Took a duplicate gift book to Waterstones for a refund.
    4) Also took a jumper back to Gap for a refund, that I bought T yesterday. Realistically I know he won't wear it despite the fact it is lovely.
    5) I joined the buy no more toileteries thread last night  so I didn't go in Boots.
    6) I have also resisted the further reductions in the Boden sale. So far....
    7) SCs and checked Quidco and banking.
    8) Packaged up B's Christmas present to return to Amazon. It is faulty, so hopefully we can get her a decent replacement in the sales.
    9) Loads of hokey cokey, including a dry clean only top which has come out fine.
    10) All meals from stores.
    11) Wrap friends bday present using paper and card from stash.
    12) Entered some comps.

Right off to cook tea. I am hoping to go round my bday friends later, but the weather may put the kibosh on that. Wrap up well, L x

    Morning guys,

We had a nightmare in the snow today, took us 45 minutes to get out of mums and another 30 mins to get parked outside where we live because the snow is so thick we had to keep shovelling away grrr

    Anyway today I have:

    Checked online banking
Took mum to hospital - she was very brave
Brought my mum a nice bowl as a treat
Brought nurses at hospital a half price box of Thorntons
Handed in a letter to my mums GP
Brought shopping for my mum and us - only spent £5 on us, the rest was mums
Put washing on and will hang to dry
Will warm up dinner in fridge - leftovers from yesterday :)

Hope everyone is keeping warm, had to put heating on for an hour as this house is freezing!!
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T
  • Evening :j

Well, it started out as a really rubbish day, I spent 2 and a half hours driving to work in the snow which would normally take 15 minutes, only to get stuck so I turned round and came home. The option was take holiday or have no pay ... so I decided that they could email me work home, and i'd do it from here... no pay or holiday lost :j

It's not snowing at the mo, but we have 6 inch at least in Yorkshire, with more forecast.

But.... because of this I had a NSD !!

Hope everyone is wrapped up nice and warm x

Good evening, going to try and keep up with this thread. Not much to report today though.

    Checked bank, still okish.
Double checked budget plan for payday and remembered to put some aside for car mot and tax.
    Free lunch at work.
No school for kids so no 50p pocket money.
Still smoking but far far less, so it's a start.
Going to take home made spag bol out of freezer for tomorrow.
I had a jacket potato for tea and cooked an extra one for dinner at work tomorrow.

Did not do it today but at weekend, applied for 0% balance transfer credit card for hubby - he knows I did this:o - and was accepted, have been nagging him for months to do this.
I applied for Tesco credit card as want to earn points for a break with my girls on their birthday, absolutely will transfer whatever I spend on it over on the same day.

That's all I think, but every little helps.

  • Hello all
Cold here and had a smattering of snow - not enough to make DS's happy or off school!

    Today I have
    • feasted on HM bread made last night
    • made jelly for tea
    • cooked rice to make chinese leftover surprise also for tea
    • making bread again for breadcrumbs to make empress pudding for tomorrow ( all this cold weather makes me want pudding obviously)
    • found £4 in coat pocket ( most unusual - OH must have borrowed it!)
    • keeping all internal doors shut to stop draughts and trying to stay in one room
    • will read library book on overeating - note to self , not compatible with so many puddings!
    • read online newspaper
    • check bank - as expected but not a source of great joy!
    • not use car as suspect DS1's footy training wil be cancelled - just looked out of window and snow is now quite heavy!
    • Sparkle, sparkle, sparkle!

well - all achieved but have blown it today by buying a book ( well 3 actually) on t'internet
    tomorrow is another day......
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.

    NSD today...yay! :T
Very chuffed to see that my ebay sales are doing well - thanks to people being kept home by the snow and shopping from home??

Won a Jam kettle on ebay, which I will pay for tomorrow so that I can start making jam and chutney for OH as he is a jam fiend

Checked online bank accounts and have vowed not to again until Friday as they make no sense and payments are showing in some places but not others...seems Bank Holiday has really messed things up

'Leftovers' lunch and beans on toast tonight as although OH is at home (isn't normally on a Tues eve as he trains, and I have something simple, but snowed in tonight) I have vowed not to stray from the menu plan and so beans it is!

Daily scratchcard and freebies also done....

phew loads sorted today, hopefully no work tomorrow as the school will be closed :j
