And how do you know what the ops contributions were in those years?

I was doing a university course (nursing) and graduated in December. I was obviously very busy with hospital work during the course and did not have a job.

The OP graduated from a University course in December 2009. She states that she did not have a job during the course. If she wasn't working, she wasn't making contributions... But perhaps YOU know of a University nursing course that lasts less than one tax year?! No? Didn't think so. Perhaps you should engage your brain BEFORE trying to pick holes in other people's posts?!

Is it just me or are lots of people having bad days today?

Please excuse the cliche, but you really need to chill out! ;)

Have you ever been to university? No? Didn't think so. There are such things as credit exemptions for part-time study and work experience. Perhaps you should engage your brain before making assumptions.

As I see it OP, a financial safety net was exactly what your mother intended, and that is what she has provided.

If you are struggling to find work, do you think it is worthwhile getting some help with your CV/applications?

Have you received responses/feedback from any job applications you have made?

Seems to me you'll be better off spending your time looking for work than trying to gain more benefits.

    When in hole, stop digging!

The OP has stated quite clearly that she did a full time nursing course without a part time job. There are NO credit exemptions in this situation.

NB. Almost all the people you're arguing with are graduates, many of us with relevant post grad qualifications. Go and patronise someone else, sonny!

The OP never stated the course was full time sonny. NB. I attended University too, only I don't use that fact to attempt to assert my intellectual superiority. Maybe you should dig a hole and bury your ego in it.
