We rely on treats and boredom toys for one of ours who can be a little destructive when left, in this case it might take yous' mind off missing you.
Kongs filled with fish/rice then frozen are great, they love them and they last hours! Pets at home also have some wonderful boredom toys in at the moment

We were told years ago by a behaviourist that dogs tend only to live in the moment, and if they're on their own they tend to think that they're the only ones in the world so worry.
With all of our dogs in the past and our delightful Retriever now, we have left a radio on so that he can hear voices, and an item of nightwear from one of us - clothing that you have worn next to the skin and only indoors so there are no other smells. He finds a place that he finds reassuring (actually our bed as he knows that's where the pjs are from ) and just snoozes whilst he waits for us to come home.
We know that we break all of the rules about greeting him - two young kids who cannot contain themselves, so the welcome home is quite outrageous!! He is also partial to worn underwear (freaky mutt) so will sometimes gather a little pile of each of our knickers in his 'safe' place - nice!!!
