I've managed to get a quote for £110 which is a lot more reasonable but will keep searching

If you have told them everything then that does appear a good deal - after all you get what you pay for.

I have had two strokes and two Heart attacks and no insurance Company will touch me until I produce a letter from My Consultant guaranteeing I am not likely to have a third one so I am in catch 22.

    Good luck

We go no further than Europe now as the insurance costs for my husband are punitive. Most including Age Concern won't offer cover at any price that would include pre-existing conditions.

Go with the one you have but check whether it is covering the conditions you haveand be prepared for the fact that the insurers would wriggle if you had to make a claim. I met a lady who was refused payment for her broken arm caused by falling as they said it was angina that made her fall. It wasn't, the ship was rolling about a bit but the insurers wouldn't budge.
  • I have previously managed to get travel insurance from both Nationwide and American Express. There was a small additional cost due to my conditions, but it wasn't unreasonable.

I have found that if you try to do an online quote most companies will say you cannot be covered, but the two I mentioned would both provide cover after a discussion with a supervisor on the phone.
