Hi all,
I'm well surprised how many responses there have been. At least it shows I'm not alone or going mad looking for workIt is offputting that the job search is still going on dispite working for 12 months on an industrial placement in a well-known (and until recently, associated with a particular golfer) company whilst at uni. Like I mentioned before, I'll be getting my CV checked out at JC this wednesday so will be interested what they say needs to be changed.
I agree about keeping an eye on marketing jobs. OH has applied for some, and after being contacted for interviews she has googled them and found them to be scams where the salary is based solely on commision with no base salary.
BLUis, is that in the London/Greater London area?Give me a PM and I'll provide more details for what I am looking for

I know a couple of recruitment consultants... this sort of things does happen at the more disreputable end, but apparently a lot of the time it is less sinister than it appears.
Stale jobs are typically left up simply because of incentives. If you are a consultant, you are paid very much on commission. You don't get paid for removing a listing for the sake of neatness, and in fact that erases valuable time. So often you forget or don't bother.
Most places that have active business don't actually need to put up lots of ghost jobs intentionally, as there are more than enough real jobs to fill out a few adverts and window cards and it is more valuable to be working on transactions. It is usually harder to find jobs than it is candidates. But if there is a shortage of business then the temptation is more real.0
