BTW. It's very easy to build a computer from scratch (honest) and much cheaper. The only big expense is the OS (Windows XP etc).

Haven't bought one for awhile. Figure your specs out and ask mse, I'd be interested in what people come up with. Good luck.

PS Never ask your B/F to move in, it's just not fair on him:rotfl:

    OY!!!

Well, for me I need DVD writer, about 300G hard drive, 2.8Ghz processor would be *nice*, have legal copies of windows and office, so don't need them, wireless card built in for home network, 256 NVidia would be good. Don't care much about noise as long as it makes*some*!!

How does that sound? Sensible or have I missed something?
    Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.

After all my hassles I want to be able to call someone who HAS to fix it under warranty... however may give b/f spares so he can build his!

I shy away from saying you should have this or that, because it's all personal choice or need. I will say, though, I'd make sure that my WiFi card had an antenna on a length of cable so I could position it for best reception.
That's a big HD, do you do image processing? Dual core processors are supposed to be good for that sort of thing........
Just a matter of finding someone who'll sell you a 'barebones' system without OS and with warranty. Might have a look around myself; I'm curious now.

Not all 650W PSU's are the same the cheap ones are not very good and over exagerate their ratings

If your local I offer to help you out with any way I can

Too late, I just bought it:rotfl:

It's better than mine, if that's any help!

You'll need WiFi (I think you said), but adaptors don't cost much.

Oh hell, I hate doing all that. Don't forget to back up your game saves, or you'll be playing them all from the beginning again.
Take a note of any WiFi settings etc as well.

God luck and have fun (in all that you do):j
