If you are anything like me, you will start with something that doesn't need to be done yet! :D

Glad I'm not the only one tackling today with a list, hope yours goes well. :)

It's going ok- but I'm totally starting with the ones I can do sitting down/are least urgent. Procrastination much?

On the MSE side, I've set up automatic August payments to all my 5 cards (2 credit and 3 storecard) so that only leaves a loan company to phone and make manual payments to. Organised!!!!

    Hey MissShoes,

You're doing sooo well with the debt busting!

It's nice that you're spending a little quality time with your other half, it's so relaxing isn't it!

Are you going anywhere nice on holiday? A couple of weeks away will do you the world of good, lets hope your OH can keep the house clean for you (I know my other half couldn't)!

    Cup Cake xx

Thanks cupcake- a couple of weeks in the sun in Europe, travelling around a bit.

OH keep the house clean? I don't know about that. I have little faith but will keep my fingers crossed. I have been dropping lots of not so subtle hints about doing a little bit every day and not letting it build up.

It will be left absolutely spotless so he knows it must be that way when I get back.

You're right about spending time with OH- loving it. And hoping 2 weeks apart will make us appreciate each other a bit more. Ahhhh love my OH :o

That sounds lovely! I'd love to do a bit of travelling.

I went to Benidorm in May and missed my other half loads and loads so I believe it is good to spend some time apart!

    Have a lovely time! xx

Hi MissShoes - thought I'd pop in to your diary as you kindly posted on mine!!!

It made me smile reading about your DH and the battles over cleaning. I've been living with my DH for 14 years and it's still the same with us. He probably would never do anything housework related unless I asked. He just doesn't 'see' the mess/laundry etc etc. I used to set little tests....I'd leave washing on a radiator to dry and see how long it would take him to move it/fold it or do something with it.....3 weeks later I'd give up & do it myself!!! He is better in some ways now...more do since we've had kids, but I would say 75% of housework/chores is left to me:mad: I've kind of given up now...

Ha ha I used to do that too- leave his mug and plate where he'd left it- once it got to a fortnight I was even more annoyed and he STILL hadn't seen it. I've realised most of my techniques/ideas to get him helping or contributing resulted in more effort and time for me! Most men I think don't 'see' the mess. He's ok when the bin is full or there's a wrapper on the floor! It's the less obvious stuff that's an issue.

So far the cleaner has worked out well and we pay her 50% each. After a few weeks of maintaining it I'll reduce her hours by 1/2 an hour a week to save and then see if we can reduce further- maybe once a fortnight. Work for me is going to be crazy this year- so is uni- so time is not on my side. I suppose OH work will stay hectic, plus he wants to learn to drive and see his family more and friends.

Ultimately as long as it's tidy and clean, I don't mind how we got there- its incredible how much less we are bickering!
