Is anyone stilll up??? my alarm on the house has just gone off, and I'm the only one here, have checked it out downstairs and there isn't anyone about, but I'm now so petrified that I can't sleep, have gone back upstairs and re-set the alarm, but what if someone was trying to break in?!!

Just need to calm down but there isnt anyone I can ring at this time of night!!!!!:( Don't really know what to do with myself.

    missy, I'm awake.

Your electricity may have short circuited and cause the alarm to go off. Did your neighbours not hear it? Have they not checked you are ok?

nope no one bothered to come and see if I was ok, most people around here are elderly but then I turned it off after a couple of minutes. as it should have done its job and scared someone away. You can imagine why I'm not overly happy and still awake! Thank you so much for replying, I just needed to talk to someone to calm down, my heart was going crazy!!!

Missy, It may have been a faulty alarm, it wasn't necessarily someone trying to break in. If you are at all concerned, phone the police on the non emergency number and tell them you are on your own and the alarm has gone off, they may do a drive past to make sure everything is ok.

thank you hun, I'm sure everything is ok now,I just needed to calm down. The alarm is reset so it'd go off again if anyone was trying to get in again, thank you so much for listening you are a star. I'm just going to read through some of the threads on here until I fall asleep.

    Thanks again

You are more than welcome, I'm on Kitty watch, my cat is due to give birth, so I'll be online if you want to chat.

Next time, leave the alarm to go off so someone checks on you, I would do that if mine went off and my husband was working away as he frequently does.

    Take care.

Really need to get my a*se into gear and clear up my hallway it looks like someone has taken up camp there!! Have about 8 loads of washing to do... but if it's nice I suppose I could always hang it on the line after, which will be nice, wont be able to do anything until I come home from work though, going to get up early to get things done too.
