Very pleased to hear that happypearl, good to know you are one of the now 90% plus 'lucky' successful critical illness claimants. It's always good to hear the positive side of things as shows the value of these policies.
A blast from the past, aint you got any tea to mash Oshayaday? :rotfl:Campaigning to recycle Insurance Policies into Toilet Paper :rotfl:

HappyPearl - hope the payout has helped ease your worries at what must be an upsetting time. Reading the thread, I was curious to know which company you have been wrangling with. I would be interested to know, but fully understand if you don't want to disclose.
All the best.0 -
Money is now in the bank so can't do any harm to tell you it was L & G. I think it was clear to them that I was telling the truth and had no reason to have mislead them, intentionally or otherwise.
I know it is not "lucky" - I was getting a payment I was entitled to. It's just that you hear these horror stories that fuel anxiety and when they started questioning my smoking history - as there was no way I could prove anything - I started to wonder what was going on and whether it was an attempt to catch me out.
Anyway, hugely relieved it's over and glad that I got a silver lining to my cloud. Thanks for all your good wishes.0 -
Just starting the claim process with a different company and am very apprehensive..thanks for giving me hope. I have a neuro problem and like you can get confused so am dreading being 'questioned' incase I inadvertently say the wrong thing. Nice to know pay out do go through. Thanks for sharing.Sometimes it's just not worth the effort of gnawing my way through the leather straps...0

Well it's a year on and I am still wrangling about my claim. I think we are getting down to the final stages now but it's grueling and many medical reports have been dragged out of filing cabinets.
I think they are trying to argue over non disclosure and perhaps go done the mis-sold route judging on the current questions being asked about a previous unrelated illness ( which the policy didn't insure me for) and the fact they are trying to get a response from my old IFA. No response so far.
I have put another post up to try and get advice about complaining about the length of times everything is taking and will let you know how I get on.
