Tiling bathroom walls

Hi Mojisola
We have tiles going down to a vinyl floor. Absolutely fine, no problems. Our vinyl fitter told us to seal between vinyl and wall tiles with clear silicone as it looks so much better than white. He's right (we have white in the en-suite which the builders did, clear is much better. I don't find the need to vacuum in the bathroom, most you get in there is hair (we have no outdoor shoes indoors so no dirt/grit/sand gets upstairs). I sweep with a soft broom then mop.
If you want to see a picture, you can see my before and after pics on my blog here - scroll down to Bathroom, the last three lots of photos in that section show the floor - the right hand side ones are the "afters" and if you click to enlarge you'll see clearly how much better it looks than skirting board.
Thanks, TomsMum. You've done a massive amount of work - the house must be lovely to live in now.
Thanks to all for the advice. I wanted the whole height of the wall tiled and now I've no worries about doing it.0 -
The alternative is to fit skirting tiles, designed exactly for this purpose.0
