You can set your normal mirrors such a way that it will eliminate need of separate blind spot mirrors.

Be aware that this was a LHD car- ignore references to left or right.(if in UK)

A good link to be sure, but not much use in a panel van, or anything else that doesn't have a rear view mirror:)

They are usually used by poor driving instructors who are incapable of, or too lazy to teach people to drive properly.

He is a good driving instructor. He has lots of students passing first time with him.

I think those things stuck on windows and side mirrors are aids for learning, and judgement. At least it helps people pass the test. :p
i always but blind spot mirrors on my cars, excellent addition for a quid or 2

you should still look properly too though!

Yes, I know I should still look properly. I use them for maneouvers usually, especially reversing around the corner and parking.

However, if the OP just relies on his mirrors and doesn't do a proper check, ie, turn and look directly whilst reversing and checking his blind spot, he will be failing his driving test.

By the way, I still do proper checks using mirrors, as well as turning and looking directly whilst reversing and checking blind spots.

    .

    If you say so.. :p

Exactly, that is not teaching somebody to drive properly, that is teaching somebody the easiest way ( for the instructor ) to pass a test.

A good instructor will teach somebody to judge the vehicles position by normal means, a pupil that passes a test is not going to restrict themselves to driving only vehicles fitted with additional mirrors/aids etc.

my driving instructor had these,I passed my test but couldn't really park properly.
my hubbie had to teach me how to park and reverse properly as I had no real understanding of it.
