But "a good value drink by money to alcohol content." gets my attention....so how much alcohol content.?
I already know the cost and quantity, what about the alcohol content.
10%. not bad for less than alcopop prices eh. stuff the bacardi breezer nonsense who wastes their money on that anyway? youll enjoy margaritas - ive tried with freshly squeezed limes - amazing.0 -
I had a proper one while on holiday, and as my friend put it, because of the salt rim 'it's like drinking the sea' :rotfl:
Cheapy frozen margaritas from a slush puppy machine in a student bar were quite nice though

I like margaritas but I'm not really a fan of buying pre-mixed cocktails, so here's a related question: best-value-for-money brand of tequila available in the UK, please?

Sometimes I make what I call a Long Tall Maggie, which is basically a Margerita in a tall tumbler topped up with Soda Water, not quite so strong as the original.0

I don't like pre-mixed drinks at all. They just have a taste about them. The last times I bought spirits were specifically to make Margaritas (last summer), so for me has to be something I particularly enjoy.
Margarita imo, tastes best 1:1:1 as I have suggested, with plenty of crushed ice to dilute it down. Try it and see.

well ive ran all out of the premixed one. So off to Asda to buy some tequila, limes, and what else?
any recommendations to what tequila? (best value for money)0 -
Triple sec is the other thing you need, hothothot

The main way to tell a decent tequila is to look for ones made from 100% blue agave. But I have no idea as to a good value brand (hence why I asked earlier
)

I was brought up on Mexican food in California, so have had a fair few in my life
The best ones I've had were finely crushed, more like a slush puppy, plenty of lime and always with a salted rim. It's been a bit hit and miss here in the UK, and the best I've had is Jose Cuervo brand; it's an authentic Mexican mix and the only pre-mixed I would recommend. It's been £3.50 for 70cl at Tesco for ages now - really good value.
If you make your own, Jose Cuervo tequila is also on offer for £10.69 for 50cl.

I love frozen mararitas and always ask for no salt.
I too spent some time in the states and have had some great ones in the florida keys and on manhattan . yum yum:beer:0 -
Hate the pre-mixed stuff, has a chemically taste to it, as others have said. A lot of so-called "cocktail bars" use mixes too, which really annoys me.
I use 2:1:1 ratio tequilla: cointreau: fresh lime juice. Shaken with ice, but not served with it. Salt rim obligatory.
It's after lunchtime now, so it's OK to have a drink, right?3-6 Month Emergency Fund #14: £9000 / £10,0000
