Your attenuation looks fine and i would imagine you would get faster. But your noise margin is high and might restrict a fast speed.

my stats i had to tweek my SNR to get that speed.

    EDIT:

    compared untweeked snr to tweeked

    ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2784 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 60.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 7.3 db 8.0 db

OK, thanks for all your help. I appreciate this. So, I guess it's all down to the noise element on my line. I normally get 3800kps in daytime. I'm currently getting no more than 300, which is dire for BT Option 3. I'll try your suggestions and then I think I'm stuck. I just can't work out why plugging the router (tried 3) into the NT2000 gives me such a problem.
Cheers anyway ... appreciate your time with this.

lol try get a LLU broadband supplier you get so much better quality of broadband. Depending on the company AOL,talktalk, carphone warehouse use LLU and they suck. But companies like SKY, Easynet, UKOnline are good.

Thanks .. .not an unbundled area here so little real choice as rural area. Our phone cables still swing through the trees here - no underground connections. Very 1950's!

PS ... Have now removed NTE2000 and have 1 phone directly into BT test socket with microfilter to router. STATS ... Nothing else added.
    Up speed 448000
    Downspeed 406000
    SNR Margin 13.0
    Loop att 35.5
No improvement in speed. at 278 kps.
    Phew!
