Slow Internet and Noise on Line - tried everything?

Hi
I’m running my broadband directly from my Master NTE5 socket. The phones are filtered by an NTE2000 Faceplate filter.V10. This seems to have always delivered the best speeds available – until recently.
I’ve noticed a lot of crackling on my voice line of late. Equally, broadband has dropped to about 250kps – less than 10% of normal speed. I’ve done the usual of plugging my phone into the BT socket and the crackling disappears. If I put the NTE2000 back the crackling is also absent. However, the problems start when I plug my broadband into the NTE2000.
I’ve tried different routers and even a replacement NTE2000. But still the problem goes on. I’ve exchanged cables and even tried the NTE2000 without any extensions wired in. I know that a call to BT will hit me with a bill and not necessarily a solution. The noise online is a little like that of a distant fax machine. So, if you’ve had the patience to get this far and can suggest if there’s anything else I can do then I’d be very grateful.
HAPPY NEW YEAR BTW!!

Is the problem still present when you're connected directly into the master socket, wired to a filter and the BB router only and nothing else connected (ie no phone). Do speeds recover?
have you changed the router, filter and cable you use to connect the router to the phone line? (and swap downstream connection, ethernet cable + use a different PC if possible, or switch to wireless)
if you're in the master BT socket with nothing else connected and have changed everything out its very very unlikely a problem with any of your equipment.
Two options:
1- contact your ISP and have them arrange testing/monitoring of the line
2- contact BT and complain to them; only if the problem is your side of the master socket will you end up with a bill (which hopefully checking above will eliminate)
I had issues with a dropping net connection recently and phoned my ISP, their engineer could see straight away i'd had numerous 'retrains' and reconnections in the last 24 hrs and as previous tweaking had failed they arranged for BT to test and start monitoring the line. Within 2 hours the problem had gone completly and my BB download speed was up by +50%

Thanks .... No, I haven't tried ditching the NTE2000 and using a normal microfilter to go directly into the NTE5. Will give this a go. However, have swapped kit and cables many times and tried on different computers. I hoard two of everything in case of such problems. However, this problem has me stuck. BT is my ISP so will get onto them if can't resolve. Post your line stats
i wanna see them 0 -
Line stats, that's where I go into the router and do something. Will try. It's a Draytek something.
Thanks0 -
yea like your attenuation, noise margin sync speed all that stuff.
With your attenuation and noise margin you could possible rule out any broadband issues if there decent.0 -
Thanks, am into the Draytek 2600 IP address. Looking for info'!0
